Decatur, Ill. (Eisenhower) inside linebacker prospect Brit Miller (6-foot-1, 230 pounds) talked about his reaction when he learned that the University of Illinois fired head coach Ron Turner on Monday afternoon.
“I was in school when I heard the news about coach Turner getting fired," Miller said. “I had read in the papers that a decision was coming soon, but I had no idea it was coming this quickly."
Miller will now await his fate with the next head coach at Illinois.
"Let's just say that I'm anxious right now like every other Illini fan to see what happens from here on out. I've been getting a few calls from some schools that were just checking in with me but I told them that I'm still very committed to the Illini. If more schools call I'll definitely will listen to them and be polite, but I'll tell them that I'm still solid with the Illini."
Miller has offers from both Illinois and Northern Illinois when he made his verbal commitment back in late July. Miller was also drawing serious recruiting interest from Missouri, Iowa, Purdue as well as several Ivy League schools.
