ILB Tongo excited about Miami visit

Naperville (Ill.) North junior inside linebacker prospect Osahon Tongo (6-foot-3, 225 pounds) has continued to draw serious recruiting interest from several Midwest schools this spring. Tongo has also begun to draw interest from schools across the country, and Tongo will leave the Midwest behind and head down to the University of Miami this weekend for a junior day event.
"I basically stayed at home last weekend because I needed to take the ACT test on Saturday," Tongo said. "I thought I did pretty well on the test, and I'll find out the results in a few weeks I guess. I'm really, really excited about heading down to the University of Miami on Friday for a junior day event."

Tongo makes no secrets about the fact that he's a big fan of the Hurricanes.
"I've never seen the University of Miami before, so I'm just very excited about my trip this weekend. I mean it's the U, and they are no question one of my favorites. I've been a big fan of Miami for a long time. I have a feeling I'll get a chance to meet some of the players this weekend at Miami, and you know that they will have some definite future NFL players on the team. Today (Tuesday) it's rainy and 50 degrees in Chicagoland, so I'm hoping that we'll be having much better weather in Miami this weekend."
Tongo also wants to check out everything that the University of Miami has to offer, and that includes more than just the football program.
"I'm definitely going to check out what Miami has to offer academically no question. I also want to see the campus and the facilities, and I also want to get an idea of how things are socially at Miami. Those are just some of the factors I'm looking for in a potential school."
Tongo also has a few additional spring travel plan remaining in April and early May.
"I'm planning to go to the University of Illinois spring game on April 23rd, and then on April 30th I'm taking another unofficial visit to Stanford. I'm also planning to attend the Nike Camp at Ann Arbor on May 7th."
