ILB Tongo enjoys Illini spring game

Naperville (Ill.) North junior inside linebacker prospect Osahon Tongo (6-foot-3, 225 pounds) was one of several in state prospects who took in the University of Illinois spring game last Saturday.
"I had a really good time at the Illinois spring game," Tongo said. "It was also really cold but fun. I also participated in a combine after wards and that went well I thought."

Tongo talked about his impressions from the Illini spring game.
"I'm really familiar with the campus at Illinois, but I had a chance to get to really see the inside stuff at Illinois on Saturday. The facilities and the weight room and locker rooms are very nice, and I really liked the indoor facility. The spring game went really well, and I also liked watching the linebackers in action. I also had a chance to talk with the coaches at Illinois and they all seem like really good guys. I spent time with head coach Ron Zook as well as a few of the assistant coaches and we really hit it off. I enjoyed the entire day at Illinois."
Tongo will wrap up his spring travels this weekend at Stanford.
"I'm heading out to Stanford this weekend for an unofficial visit. I'm really looking forward to seeing the campus, plus it better be warmer in California this weekend than it is here lately. I'm also going to the Nike Camp at Ann Arbor on May 7th."
Also expect several college coaches to make stops into Naperville North over the next few weeks.
"The coaches from Illinois are scheduled to be in school this week along with a bunch of others according to my head coach (Larry McKeon)."
Osahon Tongo currently has scholarship offers from Northwestern and Illinois.
