Naperville (Ill.) North junior inside linebacker prospect Osahon Tongo (6-foot-2, 223 pounds) has continued to draw plenty of interest and scholarship offers during the May evaluation period. Tongo gives us the latest on his recruiting news.
"I've added two more scholarship offers," Tongo said. "Both Indiana and Kansas offered me a scholarship late last week. We also had several coaches in school over the last week or so. Illinois, East Carolina, Ball State, Miami of Ohio, Iowa, Iowa State, Indiana and Michigan State all made in school visits last week according to my head coach (Larry McKeon)."
Tongo talked about his latest scholarship offers from the Hoosiers and the Jayhawks.
"Indiana is in the Big Ten conference and that's always a selling point for me. I've never been to Bloomington but I've heard some really great things about the campus and the facilities at Indiana. Indiana also has a great business school, and education is very important to me and my family."
"Kansas is in the Big 12 conference and that is also just a great football conference year in and year out. I've had a chance to speak with coach (John) Regan from Kansas and he seems like a really good guy. Kansas also has a great reputation for it's academics."
Tongo is also looking to hit the road hard this summer making several unofficial visits.
"I really want to get out this summer and I want to see several of the schools that have offered me a scholarship. I'm in the process of sorting everything out right now from a schedule standpoint, because my team comes first this summer. I want to see a bunch of schools in person this summer."
Osahon Tongo currently has scholarship offers from Indiana, Kansas, Georgia Tech, Northwestern and Illinois.
