IE backer lands first offer

Linebacker Ofa Fifita (5-11, 210, 4.7) from San Bernardino (Calif.) Arroyo Valley landed his first scholie offer in what may be many more. He was flying a little under the radar, but the word is fast getting out about his ability.
Fifita was an all-league selection after accounting for 137 tackles, five sacks, two fumble recoveries and two forced offers.

UNLV was first out of the gate with an offer, while Oregon, Oregon State, Colorado, Colorado State and Boise State are all showing recruiting interest.
"I was excited when I first heard about UNLV's offer," Fifita said. "I wasn't feeling very good that day, but when I heard that news it made me feel a lot better."
"Getting my first offer was a sigh of relief getting my first offer," Fifita said. "I have been working really hard this offseason so it feel really good to get that first offer and hopefully there will be more."
What is Fifita looking for in a college?
"I want to get a degree," Fifita said. "A lot of kids don't take advantage of getting a scholarship and don't graduate. So if football doesn't work out, I'll have my degree and be able to help my mom and dad out.'
"I just want to repay my parents," Fifita said. "They have been working all of their lives taking care of me. It is time I pay them back."
Fifita will be participating at the NIKE Combine near the end of March and then will take in the NIKE Camp on April 19th.
There is a good chance that Fifita will take in Oregon State's camp in June though it is not set in stone. The word is Oregon State wants to see him run around before they offer him a scholie.
One of Fifita's close friends is four-star offensive linemen Michael Philipp, who signed with the Beavers in February.
