Ian Bell rings for Washington State

The Washington State Cougars picked up an outstanding player when running back Ian Bell (5-10, 190, 4.49) from Woodland Hills (Calif.) Taft committed to Wazzu. The Cougars get an outstanding player who can help them as a rusher as well as a pass catcher out of the backfield.
“I have been thinking about it a lot,” Bell said. “Washington State was one of the first teams to offer and showed me a lot of interest throughout the recruiting process.”

“I just felt that I fit in best at Washington State,” Bell said. “I feel that I fit in their offense. They throw to the back a lot.”
Bell has been hampered with an injury this season and has only played in two games.
Due to Taft’s slow start Bell only carried the ball four times in the first game. On the season, Bell has rushed for 83 yards only 11 carries. He has caught 12 passes on the year.
Bell should be back tomorrow night for Taft’s game against Granada Hills (Calif.) Kennedy.
“I can hardly wait to get back in action,” Bell said. “I’m going come back with a vengeance.”
Bell rushed for over 800 yards and scored 14 touchdowns for a team that was loaded at wide receiver as a junior. Three wide receivers from Taft signed D-I scholarships to go with a D-I signee at quarterback.
This season it is Bell’s turn and the Cougars are the lucky team to land this talented all-purpose back.
The Cougars get a player that Rivals.com rates as the nations’ number 17 all-purpose back for the class of 2004 and has the 69th best prospect in the state of California at any position.
Cougars win the services of Bell over in-state rival Washington who also offered. Arizona, Oregon, USC and Colorado were also showing Bell a lot of recruiting interest.
Cougars get a talented one with Bell.
