Hutchings already on scene

Michael Hutchings will be taking an unofficial visit to USC later this month and even though it's still incredibly early in his recruitment because he's a 2013 prospect he's really looking forward to the trip.
Growing up, the Trojans have been a favorite for the Concord (Calif.) De La Salle recruit so getting to meet the coaching staff will be an important part of Hutchings' visit. Seeing the campus will also be critical.

"That's going to be important," Hutchings said. "Obviously, I want to get a vibe from the college coaches. That's one of the big things for me is getting a vibe from all these college coaches and seeing where I'm most comfortable at.
"USC has always been one of my favorites. That has always been my No. 1. That has always been a dream school."
USC, Cal, Michigan, Arizona State, Washington and many other Pac-10 teams have started to get involved with Hutchings, who finished with 53 tackles, one interception and one fumble recovery in his sophomore season.
The same day De La Salle teammate Michael Barton committed to Cal in May the Golden Bears offered Hutchings, who will visit USC with Barton. Cal is definitely standing out for many reasons and a big one is because Barton is headed to Berkeley to play linebacker.
"Cal was my first offer so it's going to have a step up always but everything is really open right now," said Hutchings, who shined at the recent Stanford NIKE Camp.
"It's still very early and everything is open."
Since it's still so early in his recruitment, Hutchings doesn't plan to make any decisions soon. First, he'll focus on winning another state championship at De La Salle and then deal with recruiting following his junior year.
