Huskies score diamond in the rough

The Huskies of Washington secured the verbal of offensive lineman Erik Berglund (6-7, 278, 5.1) from Beaverton, Ore. Berglund is the type of players that the Dawgs have made a living on over the years.
The Huskies have a great record taking raw diamond in the rough type of recruits and making them shine. Berglund definitely fits this mold as he has unlimited potential.

In an earlier interview with Rivals100 Beaverton head coach Faustin Riley had this to say about his offensive tackle, “Erik is a big guy with a lean frame. He will only get better. Erik has only two years of experience and is very raw but he has unlimited upsides. Two years ago we almost had to show how to put on his shoulder pads, he was that green. To see him to where is right now is very gratifying.”
Berglund was offered about a month ago and it didn’t take him long to accept. He will probably redshirt for the Huskies but Pac10 stardom in all probability awaits him.
Oregon, Oregon State, Washington State, ASU, Wisconsin, Nebraska and Portland State were all calling and recruiting Berglund.
The Huskies were the first to offer from the big schools and Berglund responded with a yes.
This is one of those recruits that could make the Husky staff look like geniuses two to three years down the road.
