Huskies move in on three-star athlete

Three-star athlete Leilyon Myers said most people never expected his team to reach the CIF playoffs, but a strong season on his part and determined play from his teammates proved those doubters wrong.
Myers, who is 6-foot and 190 pounds, said the trip to the playoffs was a short one with a loss to Sherman Oaks Notre Dame in the first round, but still it was a good and worthwhile season.

"I did what I could," Myers said. "I was banged up late in the season with a hip-pointer and a right ankle sprain. I could have done a whole lot better, but we did a lot better as a team than people thought.
"We made the playoffs, which is a big, big deal around here."
Myers was not sure what his stats were, but he is starting to get the details about his future lined up. After already visiting Utah in mid-October, he's not lined up a visit with Washington, a team that offered just recently.
"I talk to coach Eric Yarber a lot," Myers said. "He's a good guy to talk to. I'm looking forward to the visit a lot. I know it rains up there all the time, but the program is the type of team that I like.
"They're looking to rebuild, and I'd like to help them turn things back around. I want to make an impact quickly."
Boise State and Colorado are also expected to get an official visit from the three-star athlete. He does have scholarship offers from Arizona, Colorado, UCLA, Utah, Washington and Boise State.
"I want to take a few more visits and see what happens," he said. "Utah is definitely still in the hunt, and I have a few more places to see and then make up my mind."
