Huskers still in the running for Gunn

Omaha (Neb.) Central running back Brandon Gunn continues to keep his options open.
“I’m trying to look at narrowing my list of schools down some,” the 5-foot-11, 190-pound Gunn said. “But, at this time, I’m wide open. I’m looking at a lot of schools still.”

Some prior reports indicated Gunn was looking more at leaving Nebraska and playing his college ball outside the state.
“I’m not ruling out Nebraska,” Gunn said. “They are involved very much still. They have been very active in recruiting me. I know quite a bit about the program already, but I know there is a lot more to learn about Nebraska and a lot of other schools.”
The other schools on Gunn’s list include Iowa, Iowa State, Kansas, Kansas State, Colorado, UCLA and Wyoming.
“All of them have offered me scholarships,” he said. “I have learned some about all of them through the mailings. I will need to find which five schools I will visit and take those trips.”
Colorado is the only school to be recruiting Gunn as a defensive back.
“I’m not real picky about where I play. I just want the chance to get on the field. I would probably pick running back if I could pick. But, I’m not going to be picky. I just want to play football.”
