Miramar (Fla.) cornerback Tyrek Cole has added a Nebraska offer to his impressive list of schools showing early interest.
Nebraska actively recruits Florida and the southern part of Broward and Miami-Dade counties. Last year, the Huskers signed Boaz Joseph from Weston (Fla.) Cypress Bay, which is located about twenty-five minutes from Cole's school.
Cole said he wasn't surprised by the offer and feels like "they are a good team."
This past weekend the Rivals250 Watch List prospect attended the Miami-Florida clash along with a reported 150 other recruits from all over the country. Cole paid particularly close attention to former five-star teammate Tracy Howard.
"It was the most exciting game I ever went to," chimed Cole. "Tracy did good."
Cole did not name a leader and is considering all of his options. One important factor in his recruitment will be the depth chart.
"I want to play as a true freshman," he said.
As a sophomore, Cole recorded 30 tackles, two interceptions, and several pass break ups while only allowing five or six completions against him.
In addition to adding the Nebraska offer, Cole added verbal offers from Kentucky and Ole Miss during the week.
