Huskers land local FB

Nebraska has made a living of taking guys that might not be the bluest of blue-chips when it comes to player in their own backyard, so it's no surprise for the Huskers to go after Dane Todd.
It's also not a surprise that they landed him.

The two-star fullback from Lincoln (Neb.) Southeast Todd confirmed that he has committed to the Huskers, turning down an offer from Duke and heavy interest from Stanford, Northwestern and Iowa State.
"I needed to do some thinking," Todd said from school today.
"But after I looked at it, it just made sense. How could you not want to carry on the fullback tradition at Nebraska?"
The 5-foot-11, 215-pounder has a 4.42 grade-point average, said academics were also a big key for him.
"I was very impressed with the academic support at Nebraska," Todd said. "That makes it the total package."
