Huskers back on Florida DT

Three-star Miami (Fla. ) Edison defensive tackle Richard Clebert says he’s ditched his top five list in light of who’s been in contact with him this month. Or in some cases, who’s not been in contact.
“I don’t have a top five anymore,” he said. “I’m telling all the coaches who call me that I’m real open right now. It seems like every day somebody new calls or sends me a letter. Some schools are starting to show more interest, and a few of them that were recruiting me aren’t showing as much.”

Nebraska is one program that appears to be stepping things up for Clebert (6-1, 275, 4.93).
“They had sent me a couple of letters a long time ago, but I hadn’t heard from them in a while,” he said. “Then they called on Saturday and said that I had an offer there if I wanted it. It turns out they were sending mail to the wrong address. I gave them my new one, and they told me they’re going to send me a media guide sometime this week.
“I like their program. They’re pretty cool. I want to get their media guide and look at it some before I decide if I want to go visit or anything.”
Meanwhile, his previous favorite may be on the decline.
“I haven’t heard anything from Miami lately,” he said. “I don’t know what’s up. Maybe they’ve made their decision on me, I don’t know. Coach told me to stay patient and wait to see. Sometimes Miami comes in at the end and gets guys from around here.
“That was always my favorite school growing up, and they still are. I’d love to play for them, but there are other good options out there if it doesn’t work out.”
Clebert also claims offers from LSU, Florida, Kansas State, Rutgers, South Florida and Central Florida. He said he received calls from each of those schools and Ohio State in the last two weeks.
He said he’s yet to make any unofficial visits and doesn’t have any plans for trips set in stone.
“The only one I knew of was the Florida-Miami game, and I had a game that day at 3 o’clock, so it was too late for me to go,” Clebert said.
Through two games this season, he’s recorded three sacks and three forced fumbles.
Academically, he maintains a 2.6 GPA and has scored a 16 on the ACT.
