Hurst still waiting on visits

As one of the most talented teams in the state of Texas, Lancaster (Texas) High School is not off to the start that it expected. The Tigers have struggled out to a 1-3 start in the non-district schedule and behind senior leadership and a talented secondary, they are now focused on getting back on track. Three-star prospect Demontre Hurst is hoping to lead the way.
"Our expectations are still high we just started up a little slow," Hurst said. "We're fixing to start up district so no it's a new season and a new attitude in district. We're just trying to come together as a team. Everyone thinks there's an offense, defense and a special teams so now we just want them all to come together as one team."

Hurst plays all over the defensive backfield for Lancaster, working at safety, corner and the nickel spot. His productive season has kept his name on the lips of numerous college coaches and though Hurst has yet to take or schedule any official visits, they are on his mind.
"I've talked to some coaches about taking a visit and everything," he said. "Actually Wake Forest is trying to get me to come down this weekend but I don't think I'm going to go. I had talked to some other coaches but I haven't scheduled anything."
When he does lock in some dates for visits, Hurst has an idea of the schools that will be included.
"I think so far with the schools that are recruiting me right now, I think I have made a decision on who I'm going to visit and everything," he said. "I know I want to go to Wake Forest. I know I want to go down to North Carolina. I want to take one to Wisconsin. I want to go to Tennessee and I've been to Arizona though so I'm still thinking about Kansas State."
Among the list of schools that are in consideration for visits are some programs that are relatively new to his recruitment this season.
"Actually North Carolina started recruiting me later on in the season and I'm talking to the Tennessee coach right now and he said to consider yourself offered. "
The six schools under consideration are what Hurst considers to be his top six at this point unless something were to change. Though he does hope to take all of his visits, his main focus right now is getting his team back on track.
"I went back and forth. At first I thought about taking them during the season to see the football games and everything but then I was thinking I may want to focus on my season and make sure school is good. I may take one or two visits during the season."
