Hurst hurt, but still talking to schools

Wide receiver Micah Hurst of Athens (Ga.) Clarke Central may be hurt, but he refuses to feel down and out about it.
“I only got chance to play three games this year, because I ended up tearing my ACL,” Hurst said. “Well, this summer when I was working out they think I tweaked it then, because it hurt really bad, but it healed back, and I was just making some light cuts on it and finally it just gave out.

“My torn ACL isn’t going to slow me down. Even Georgia’s Thomas Brown, he broke his entire leg, but he was still one of the top recruits in the state. I can’t wait to be back, and hopefully I’ll be back better than ever.”
When Hurst does get back, he’ll still have some schools to talk to as well. A broad range of schools have been talking to the lanky wide receiver, and he has already set up visits with some schools.
“I’ve been talking to Georgia Southern, Ball State, Stanford, Air Force,” he said. “I like all of those schools, but I haven’t seen any offers yet. In November on Thanksgiving holiday I’m supposed to be going to Kentucky, who’s recruiting me also, and Ball State to see them. I’ll probably plan some other visits later on, too.”
For the time being, Hurst is trying to remain positive about his injury and scholarship status, preferring to take the process slowly.
“I’m just kind of feeling it out, praying about it and letting God handle it,” he said. “I’m not worrying too much.”
