"Miami stopped by last week and offered me and that was crazy," he said. "I'm really excited about it; they are up near the top of my list now."
The lineman now holds 18 offers including ones from Ohio State, LSU, North Carolina, Virginia, Virginia Tech and Maryland. Currently, Whitmore claims he has no real favorites heading into summer, although Miami would be slightly ahead of the others because of the prestige of the offer.
The lineman also doesn't have any camps or unofficial visits currently scheduled this summer.
As for next season, Whitmore is looking to improve on his already impressive stats from his junior year where he recorded 75 tackles, 18 for loss, 10 sacks and one interception. The lineman was even named all-district, all-region and all-state.
"I'm just looking to get more sacks and I'm trying to get quicker for next year," he asid. "I'm in the weight room working out more too."
Whitmore sports a solid 3.0 GPA.
