Hurricane brews up another

Tulsa once again showed its faith in the California junior college system when it landed yet another player from the Golden State. The Golden Hurricanes have now landed six commits with the latest being a talented pass-catching tight end.
Aaron Roupoli confirmed Tuesday that he committed to the University of Tulsa early last week. He is currently finishing classes at Santa Ana (Calif.) College and will enroll at Tulsa after the semester with two years of playing eligibility remaining.

Roupoli was pressed for time when he took his trip to Tulsa due to a heavy load in the classroom, but his one-day stop proved worthy as he clicked with the locals instantly.
"The couple of players I met right away were awesome," said Rouploi. "I really liked the atmosphere and the stadium was great."
Roupoli is 6-foot-3, 235 pounds and runs the 40-yard dash around 4.8 seconds. He finished the season at Santa Ana as the second leading receiver for the Dons with 29 receptions for 379 yards and three touchdowns. He was named to the 2nd Team All Mission Conference-National Division squad for his efforts.
Roupoli decided on Tulsa after talks with Wisconsin, Nevada, San Diego State, Northern Arizona and Utah. He credited the offensive game plan at Tulsa and how they use the tight end as what excited him the most.
"I liked their offensive game plan because they have a lot of zone blocking and play action," said Roupoli. "I should get a lot of opportunities to catch balls and it's very similar to what we did at Santa Ana."
Roupoli attended Mater Dei High School and joins William Washington (DE, Bakersfield), Marchon Tatmon (DB, Chabot), Alain Karatepeyan (LB, LA Pierce), Ryan Bugg (WR, Allan Hancock) and Idris Moss (WR, Chaffey) in making the jump from the California junior ranks to Tulsa.
