Hurdle gets closer to offers

Although he hasn't received an offer yet, Highland Springs, Va. quarterback Matthew Hurdle believes he is close. Particularly after the 6-foot-3, 176-pounder recently attended two summer camps.
"I haven't gotten any scholarships, but ECU has a strong interest as does Maryland," he said. "Tennessee is showing a little something too, but right now I don't know.

"I think ECU and Maryland are close because they are really fired up about me and talk about how they want me to be in there program."
What did Hurdle think of his camp experiences at East Carolina and Maryland?
"I love ECU," he said. "It was a good atmosphere and the coaches were great. I stay in contact with their coaches almost every day. The same can be said for Maryland. Right now, I'm just looking at whoever comes across the board with good education and playing time."
The Virginia quarterback has at least one more camp coming up in the near future.
"I am planning to go to Virginia Tech on July 14th," he said. "I may also go to Richmond and JMU later this month. I just want to show those schools how I throw in person.'
Currently, Hurdle has no favorites. What is he looking for in a college?
"I'm looking for education and make sure they have my major, sports management. I'll also check to see whether it's a place I want to be for four years," he said. "Obviously I'll look to see if they'll play a black quarterback too and then playing time is a big deal as well."
