Huntley to visit Tennessee, others

DAVIE, Fla. -- Johnny Huntley's timetable hasn't been sped up by the 14 scholarship offers he holds. In the era of the quick commitment, the South Plantation (Fla.) High School receiver is perfectly content to wait things out.
He names no frontrunners and declines to discuss a timetable for a verbal commitment. Instead, the only thing on his mind at this juncture is his next visit.

"Sometime next month, I'm visiting Tennessee," Huntley said on Saturday. "I'm working on the date now."
The appeal of Tennessee isn't a relationship or some deep-seeded sense of family or belonging. It's simpler than that. Huntley knows what he's looking for in a program, and it seems the Volunteers can't offer it up.
"They lose a lot of receivers this year, and that's a big part of what I like about them," Huntley said. "I have a good chance to come in and play as a true freshman."
Huntley says that Tennessee is recruiting him the hardest but declines to name the Volunteers as the frontrunner saying that he "wants to give other schools a chance." And as for other possible offseason visits, he has a few in minds.
"I want to visit TCU and Clemson for sure," he said.
The allure of TCU, which has become a bit of a hot name in Florida as of late, is not much different than that of Tennessee. Huntley has started his research on the Horned Frogs and likes what he's figured out so far.
"They throw the ball around a lot," Huntley said. "And, just like Tennessee, they have a lot of senior receivers coming out this year. I think I could get on the field there too."
According to Huntley, Florida and Mississippi State are heavily involved in his recruitment and could be close to making things official with scholarship offers. How such offers would effect his outlook remains unclear.
