Hunt not rushing decision

Dashon Hunt has a top five but more important to him than recruiting is starting his senior season and that's only days away since Westlake Village (Calif.) Westlake gets going this weekend.
Cal, Nebraska, Washington, Oregon State and Arizona are the favorites for Hunt, a 5-foot-10, 175-pound cornerback who was committed to UCLA early in the recruiting process but he doesn't seem too concerned about making another pledge anytime soon.

"I'm really happy because I've been waiting for a while now to get the season started," Hunt said. "I believe that it's about that time my teammates and I get on that field and show everybody what we have this year."
The top five is in place but it could definitely change if new offers come in. No new programs are showing interest but that could change through the season so Hunt doesn't want to make any decision yet.
"I'm not too sure yet," Hunt said. "I'm still kind of waiting to see if I get any new offers. I'll start really getting into that heavily toward the end of the season and start narrowing things down hopefully toward the end of the season.
"As it stands right now, I'm focusing on the season and opening the season really strong and then going from there."
Hunt, who has 14 offers, said he would like to take one official visit during the season - he's not sure where - and then the others after things get wrapped up. That way the four-star can spend more time with the coaching staffs to make a more informed choice.
The Westlake standout said it looks like a final decision will not come until after his senior season and official visits.
"Probably most of the visits will be after the season so I can spend more time with the coaches," Hunt said.
Rivals.com rates Hunt as the No. 23 cornerback and No. 240 prospect in the 2013 class. In his junior season, he finished with 63 tackles and six interceptions. He also rushed for 1,274 yards and 18 touchdowns.
