Hunt in demand

Johnathan Hunt is a stout 6-foot-1, 298 pounds and is a big presence in the middle of the Texarkana (Texas) Texas High defensive front. As such, Hunt has been a target of college recruiters for the last few years.
He is currently focused on his senior season, but he has kept an eye on his recruiting situation.

"It's been going good. I've been getting a lot of interest from a lot of people," Hunt said.
Arkansas, New Mexico, and Houston are three schools he says have reached out recently. Currently one schools stands out among the rest.
"Right now I like Arkansas," he said. "I just like the school and all the coaches. It just seems like it's a great athletic program."
Hunt is currently not reporting any offers, and has no official visits scheduled. He does say he will schedule some visits after he weighs out his options, but for now he is focused on his football season. However, he does plan to take unofficial visits to Arkansas and Texas Tech this fall.
Hunt and Texas High are currently 1-1 on the 2012 season and are off this week as they prepare for a Sept. 21 match-up at Tyler (Texas) Lee.
"I had an extremely good first game and an alright second game," Hunt said. "We had a bad loss the second game. We're going to work harder next week. I'm a d-tackle, d-end, and nose guard. I feel good. I'm running to the ball good."
