Hunnicut enjoys first trip

Two-star weakside defensive end / outside linebacker CJ Hunnicut from Bradenton (Fla.) Manatee recently returned home from his first official visit and had a good trip. He has at least three more trips to take, however, before deciding where he wants to attend college.
“It went good, really,” he commented on his trip to Auburn over the weekend to watch the Iron Bowl. “I really don’t have any nothing to compare it to, but it was good.

“It is a really small college town, and I fit in real good there.” He was hosted by fellow Floridian, freshmen DE Stanley McClover from Ft. Lauderdale, and enjoyed the company.
“Since he was from Florida, he was able to give me the perspective of what is was like to go from here to there,” Hunnicut explained.
CJ has visits planned to West Virginia on Dec. 5, South Florida on Jan. 16, and Ohio State Jan. 23, and would like to take another trip, but hasn’t received any other offers yet. He said he definitely plans to take all of his visits before making a decision, and is looking for one thing, primarily, on his trips.
“The big thing is if I fit in,” he explained. “I don’t want to go there if the people don’t want me there.” On his first visit, he noted that Auburn passed this test.
Hunnicut stands 6-foot-2, weighs 215 pounds, and runs the 40-yard dash in 4.65 seconds. His senior season ended with a disappointing 5-6 record, but he posted good numbers, recording 18 sacks and 75 tackles.
CJ is a very good student with a 3.14 GPA and a 960 on the SAT. An eloquent speaker, he plans to major in communications.
