Connor Humphreys has already taken a lot of unofficial visits but his best one was this past weekend when he went to Cal's junior day and spring game.
"It was really fun," Humphreys said. "It was probably the best unofficial visit I've ever taken."
The four-star defensive end from Portland (Ore.) Central Catholic went to Berkeley a day early, sat in meetings and really got a feel for the new coaching staff and the direction of the program.
Humphreys, the defensive line MVP at the Rivals Camp in Los Angeles, said he was thoroughly impressed by everything throughout the weekend.
"I really liked the way the coaches treated me," Humphreys said. "I went there a day early and I did all the meetings with the team and I just loved it down there.
"I think they're definitely good guys and quality coaches and they're going to have a good season this year. It was priceless. The facilities are so nice and the quality of things they have down there is just amazing."
So far, Humphreys has offers from Arizona State, Boise State, Boston College, Cal, Oregon State, UCLA, Washington State, Wyoming and others.
His visit to Cal went really well but before Humphreys makes any decisions the 6-foot-3, 257-pound prospect wants to take some other trips and compare some other teams to the Golden Bears.
"It kind of influences me but I definitely have some other schools I want to visit like Oregon State and UCLA and just see what they have to provide," Humphreys said.
Rivals.com rates the Portland Central Catholic standout as the No. 232 prospect in the 2014 class.
