Humphreys lands SEC interest

Connor Humphreys dominated at defensive end especially during one-on-one drills at the Rivals Camp Series by Under Armour in Los Angeles last weekend and now the four-star is receiving new SEC interest.
"Tennessee contacted me and said they wanted the link to my highlight tape and that they're going to get it evaluated," Humphreys said. "They have some more interest in me now."

The Volunteers have not offered yet but their involvement is definitely encouraging to Humphreys, who first leaned toward staying closer to home for college but has now expanded his thoughts and will look at all options.
Still, before the four-star defensive end from Portland (Ore.) Central Catholic gets too excited about Tennessee he would like to take a trip to Knoxville to see if it would be the right situation for him.
"I'm not sure about the SEC but I'd definitely love to get out there and visit," Humphreys said.
"I've never been to the East Coast so that could be for me or it could not be for me. I want to get back there and visit before I determine whether it's for me or not."
Arizona State, Boise State and Oregon State make up the top three for Humphreys, who also has offers from Wyoming and Portland State.
That list might have changed since last weekend since Humphreys talked with the Cal coaching staff and they decided to offer.
"That is a good offer for me," Humphreys said of Cal.
"That's a great school and with the new coaching staff that they have they're going to be in the running for a Pac-12 championship."
UCLA, Washington State and others are showing interest in the four-star prospect who's rated No. 232 in the 2014 class by Rivals.com.
