Humphreys heads to Los Angeles

Connor Humphreys is taking unofficial visits to USC and UCLA this weekend - and it probably won't be the last time the four-star defensive end sees both schools.
"I leave (Friday) morning and I'll be at USC and then I'll be at UCLA on Saturday," Humphreys said.

"I want to just go in with an open mind to both schools and see everything that each school has to offer and meet all the coaches and just have a fun time there. Then later on this summer I will go back down and look for specific things."
This is the first time at each school for the Portland (Ore.) Central Catholic standout who earned the defensive line MVP at the Rivals Camp in Los Angeles.
Getting a feel for each place during this trip is important and then Humphreys plans to delve down further on his next visit later in the recruiting process.
"That's what I definitely want to do," Humphreys said. "I want to take my time and make a smart decision and I don't want to rush anything. That's why I'm going to take my visits this summer."
Tennessee is the latest offer for Humphreys, a 6-foot-3, 257-pound prospect who has looked good at multiple camps this off-season. Apparently, the Vols' coaches took one look at his highlight film and quickly decided to send an offer his way.
"The coach asked for the link to my film and he was going to get it evaluated and he said the d-line coach loved it and they wanted to talk to me," Humphreys said. "They said I was a great football player and they wanted to offer me.
"It's definitely exciting to hear from them, such a big team with such a great history and tradition. I'm going to visit there this summer, too."
The four-star now lists offers from Arizona State, Boise State, Boston College, Cal, Oregon State, Tennessee, UCLA, USC, Vanderbilt, Washington and others.
Humphreys said the spring evaluation period has been quiet so far but he expects it could pick up soon - and a trip to Oregon is coming up.
"I haven't been hearing from anyone pretty much," Humphreys said. "I still haven't heard from Oregon but I am going down to one of their spring practices on April 27.
"Other than that no coaches have come to the school. The schools that have offered me I know they're going to send some coaches to talk to me but I don't know which schools that haven't offered are going to come."
