Humongous MA receiver has a favorite

Northfield (Mass.) Northfield Mount Hermon is home to one of the biggest receiver prospects in the country in the 2007 class in Clive Weeden. At 6-foot-9, 215-pounds, Weeden certainly is getting noticed by schools across the country.
"He is getting a lot of stuff from the Ivy League as well as some of Division I schools including Boston College, Northwestern, Stanford and Connecticut," Northfield Mount Hermon head coach Mike Atkins said. "The last discussion I had with him, Clive could really see himself going to Stanford and was interested in Brown and Dartmouth a lot too. I think he likes Stanford because it is a good school athletically and academically. The lure of the West Coast is another thing that is a big draw for him."

There is more to Weeden than just his height.
"Obviously he has great height, but he has solid hands and strength too," he said. "For a guy his size, his speed is pretty good and he has good agility. He is also an academically really strong student that is hard working and dedicated on and off the field.
"I think he's topped out on his height, but he'll probably add another ten or fifteen pounds. He'll also probably be able to drop a couple tenths on his 40-time in the next couple years. He is working hard on that now participating on the track team."
Of course with his height, Weeden is a solid basketball player that is getting some serious looks.
"He is getting interest from many of the same schools like Stanford, Northwestern and the Ivy League," Atkins said. "At the moment, he doesn't know which sport he'll pursue, but I personally think he'll have a better overall career in football since there aren't many 6-foot-9 receivers."
The wide receiver prospect missed the majority of his junior year to a knee injury, but was impressive as a sophomore hauling in 450 yards receiving and six touchdowns.
