Humble LB Has Big Favorite

Clifton (Va.) Centreville linebacker Brett Warren is pretty much a slam-dunk to commit to one school, although he’s not sure when he’ll pull the trigger.
“I have an offer from Virginia Tech and right now they’re my favorite,” said the 6-foot-2, 205-pounder with 4.7-second speed in the 40-yard dash. “I took a visit up to Pitt and I was interested, but I don’t think they were too interested in me.”

Warren is about as humble a recruit as you’ll talk to and is expected to follow his brother Blake to Blacksburg to be a Hokie. Surely schools like Virginia, Maryland and others are showing some interest, but Warren’s modesty makes him hard to read.
“Not too many schools,” he replied when asked if any college coaches had been to his school to see him this month. “Some smaller schools and schools for other guys.”
Warren’s teammate, offensive tackle Chris Welsh, recently committed to Virginia Tech and has been working on his teammate.
“I’m trying to get him to go with me,” said Welsh. “I’m always bugging him about it. He hasn’t really indicated when he’ll decide.”
Whenever it is, right now it looks like it will be the Hokies for sure.
