Chicago (Ill.) Hubbard star Robert Hughes has seen his scholarship offer total rise to two dozen. Hughes has picked out one of the two dozen schools to schedule his first official visit with.
"I set up a Dec. 1 official visit with Ohio State," Hughes said. "That's the only one I've set up right now."
Hughes has three other trips in mind.
"I know I'll visit Michigan and Notre Dame officially," he said. "And I know I'll visit Illinois.
"There are a number of schools left for my fifth visit. I have to evaluate things. I know Ohio State will be one visit. Something might pop up on the other ones, but the Ohio State visit is official."
The competion for Hughes' services is fierce. He says his scholarship offer total stands at 24, but he hasn't narrowed his list down at this point.
"I've been thinking about it," Hughes said. "But I haven't officially gotten around to it. I'm taking it slow, making sure I make the right decisions.
"I might take start taking my official visits during the season. We'll see."
The 5-foot-11 and 226-pound Hughes rushed for 1892 yards and 19 touchdowns during his junior season.
