Hughes likes Big Ten school

Gahanna (Ohio) Lincoln tight end John Hughes is one of the better tight ends in the Midwest and ad 6-foot-2, 260 pounds, the options are limitless where he might project on the next level. So far he's done a nice job helping his team get off to a fast start.
"We're doing pretty good," Hughes said. "Our team is 4-0 so far this season. That's the most important thing for us. We're winning ball games and doing well. The stats don't really matter. The wins do."

Hughes said he's winning quite well in the recruiting front. He's getting some nice attention from Big Ten, Big East and MAC schools.
"Michigan State, West Virginia, Toledo, and Cincinnati are the ones that call me the most," Hughes said. "They've all been talking about getting more game film on me and evaluating me and everything.
"I'd probably say Michigan State and West Virginia right now are my top two teams. I went to the Michigan State vs. Notre Dame game on Saturday. It was a really great game even though Michigan State lost."
After those two teams, he says he'd like to take official visits to "probably Cincinnati and Toledo." But make no mistake, he likes the interest he's getting from the Big Ten school.
"I'm probably leaning more towards Michigan State right now, but I'm leaving my options open," he said. "I've seen more of them and I've talked to their coaches more. They have really good facilities. I'll probably commit before the season is over. If not, then I'll commit right after the season."
