Hughes happy with performance

Chicago Hubbard running back Robert Hughes was in Columbus on the campus of the Ohio State University to take part in the NIKE Football Training Camp at OSU on Friday.
"It went pretty good," Hughes said. "I was satisfied with my overall performance. I felt good about it. I thought I did well in the one-on-one drills."

The 6-foot-0 and 220-pound Hughes, who rushed for 1,892 yards and averaged almost 15 yards per carry during his junior season, had previously been in Columbus to take a look at Ohio State.
"I talked to the running backs coach when I was there before," Hughes said. "Ohio State has an excellent program. They have a tradition of winning."
Hughes has visited a number of other schools.
"I've been to Iowa, Notre Dame, Michigan, Illinois, Virginia -- that's it," he said. "And Ohio State."
A number of schools have already decided they would like to sign Hughes.
"I have eight offers," he said. "Illinois, Virginia, Purdue, Mississippi State, Michigan, Kansas State, Minnesota and Oklahoma State have offered. Right now I'm wide open."
Hughes has been a varsity starter since his freshman year when he rushed for 1,014 yards. He gained another 1,000-plus yards during his sophomore season.
