Huge TE has five offers

6-foot-7 and 234-pound Ebensburg (Pa.) Bishop Carroll tight end Jeff Minemyer has seen interest from many of the top schools in the country. Although he has three early offers, it's a school that hasn't offered yet that seems to have the edge.
The list of schools he has received mail from includes Boston College, Wisconsin, Purdue, North Carolina, Syracuse, Iowa and others. Indiana, Rutgers, Georgia Tech, Louisville and Illinois have already offered scholarships based on a much-improved senior season.

"I played a lot better than last year," he said. "I got a lot more playing time."
Even though Bishop Carroll doesn't pass the ball that much, Minemyer caught six passes for 86 yards and a score. He also noted that he had a lot of pancake blocks this past season and he's also a standout defensive end.
As for his favorites, Minemyer says that Pittsburgh is number one with Penn State number two.
"I really wanted to go to Pitt for the longest time," Minemyer said. "Because I'm a big fan of them and I grew up a fan of them too. But with other schools offering now, I have more to weigh."
What does he want out of school?
"I'm looking for high academics and something to back me up if it doesn't work out with sports," he said. "I'm also looking for a good teacher student relationship."
This summer Minemyer plans on attending Pittsburgh's camp.
