Huge OT Vinson on the verge of a decision

Scranton (Pa.) Lackawanna C.C. offensive tackle Jeff Vinson made his way on his second and likely final official visit. The 6-foot-6, 348-pounder made his way to Rutgers.
"It was good," he said. "I got there Friday and went to Manhattan to the ESPNZone. I toured all the facilities, which was nice. I learned a bit more about their program. They updated me and things like that.

"I also hung out with a couple of the players. I hung out with Anthony Davis and my host was Desmond Stapleton. He was cool, he's a cool guy. He showed me a good time and told me I have a chance to come in and start."
Of course, Vinson met with the coaches on the trip as well.
"I talked to all of them, I met all of them," he said. "They are a good set of coaches. They told me about their program which is an awesome program, the tradition is unbelievable. They let me see what it was all about."
Vinson met with Greg Schiano to wrap up the trip.
"It was good talking to him," he said. "He let me know where I stood and told me to make sure I make the right decision and pick a place that fits me and I'm comfortable at."
Where does Vinson go from here?
"I'm probably done with visits," he said. "I think I'm deciding between Oklahoma and Rutgers. I probably will decide very soon. It could be anytime."
Wherever Vinson ends up, he plans to enroll in the fall of 2009.
