Huge OL headed to C-USA

Louisville (Ga.) Jefferson County offensive tackle Willie Thompson is one of the biggest offensive line prospects in the Peach State. He performed well at the NIKE camp in Atlanta and had a strong senior season, which led to his picking up several scholarship offers. As of this weekend, however, he is now off the market.
"I took an official visit to UAB this weekend and I committed while I was over there," Thompson said. "I really was impressed with the dorms and the facilities and all. It is a program on the rise and I feel like I can go in and contribute early."

Thompson came in at 6-foot-6, 263 pounds at the NIKE camp, with a large, but lean athletic frame. Thompson ran a 5.66 second 40-yard dash and a 5.37 second shuttle and had a vertical jump of 22.6 inches.
"I had offers from Middle Tennessee State and Louisville as well and I took an official visit to Louisville on January 14," Thompson said. "I just felt like UAB was the best fit for me and that is why I chose them."
