Junior defensive end Dajaun Drennon of Sicklerville (N.J.) Timber Creek has quietly been reeling in the offers and on Wednesday added a big one to his total. Florida State was the latest to offer the South Jersey end, which now gives him eight early offers.
"Yes sir I got the offer," said Drennon. "My coach informed me today (Wednesday). I think that's a huge offer to get, but I feel that if I play up to my potential and give it my all, then I will be fine."
Drennon explained why he considers the Florida State offer "huge".
"Just the fact that it's a legendary football program," said Drennon. "They are known to have one of the best defensive lines, and just the overall atmosphere of Tallahaseee."
The Seminoles offer joins previous offers from Penn State, Rutgers, Syracuse, Purdue, Maryland, Iowa and Tennessee. The early recruiting success is obviously satisfying for Drennon.
"It feel good," he said. "I would like to credit my early offers a lot to my coach though. During the summer we felt that he was pushing us over the limit, but now my teammates and I see that it was only to help us in the long run."
Aside from recruiting success, the hard work has also paid off on the field.
"The season is going very good," said Drennon, who will visit Rutgers this Saturday. "We are currently 7-0. I have about seven sacks and 30 tackles.
