Destrehan (La.) athlete Jerico Nelson picked up a major offer from the state's flagship program on Friday.
"LSU offered," Nelson said. "They talked to me about offering a couple of weeks ago, and it came in the mail today."
Nelson was excited about the news.

"It makes me feel good because it's the home school and it's nice to get an offer from your home school."
The offer cements the Tigers in the four-star prospect's top four. Alabama, Miami and Florida are also among his leaders.
"I'm really keeping everything steady right now," he said.
Nelson plans to attend Florida's Friday Night Lights camp and LSU's prospect camp in July. He said the Tigers are recruiting him as a running back or as a defensive back.
Nelson is the nation's No. 22 athlete prospect and is the No. 7 overall prospect in the state of Louisiana for the Class of 2008.
