Huge freshman gets 1st offer

College coaches are always trying to find the next big prospect and Syracuse may have found him. The Orangemen were the first to offer mammoth freshman offensive lineman Chris Bleich from Plymouth (Pa.) Wyoming Valley last week.
"When my coach told I was kind of speechless because I wasn't expecting it all," said the 6-foot-5, 315-pound Bleich. "I told my dad as soon as I found out and we got really excited."

While Syracuse was the first school to offer Bleich, he isn't very familiar with the program.
"I don't know too much about them," he said. "I've never been there but they were recruiting my uncle. He ended up playing at Rutgers. My dad went to a Syracuse game and he said it was the best game he had ever seen."
Bleich's has already camped at Rutgers twice.
"My uncle played for Rutgers from 1992- 1994," Bleich said. "I never went to a college game before but I went to Rutgers' camp twice. I think it was their youth camp. I've followed their program a little but not too much."
Bleich did point out that Penn State has already made an impression.
"I've heard from Penn State a little but that's about it right now," he said. "I went to their camp but I only really know about coach Franklin and all that. I don't know too much. I know he's a good recruiter, is really nice to people and really down to earth."
Last season Wyoming Valley went 8-3.
