Hubbard ready for big games

Lakewood (Ohio) St. Edward Kyle Hubbard hard a hard time getting excited about his game on Friday night. St. Edward blew out its opponent 44-0 and he played only 6 minutes in the first quarter.
"I got my touchdown in," Hubbard said. "It was boring, though. So boring."

However, Hubbard, who is ranked as the nation's No. 37 tight end, said he knows tougher challenges are ahead. Up this week is a big battle against St. Ignatius and then in two weeks, St. Ed's battles Cincinnati Moeller. But this week's game is on tap first.
"It's always a big game," Hubbard said. "They're 6-1, so it should be a good game. We think we can score some points on them and stop them on defense."
Hubbard said he's getting some new recruiting attention from Iowa, Illinois and Boston College. While those new teams have yet to offer he's said many want to see more film and they're very interested.
"They've told me if they like the film then they're going to offer," he said. "They said most likely they would."
Hubbard already has offers from Kentucky, Pittsburgh and Bowling Green. At 6-foot-3 and 220 pounds, most schools like him as a pass-catching tight end/receiver.
"Kentucky and Pitt are schools for sure that will get visits," he said. "I have to see what else happens after those two schools. Everything still is really up in the air."
