Hoyd looking for more attention

Greg Hoyd has two early offers and more might be on the way if the 2014 linebacker from Murrieta (Calif.) Vista Murrieta has a big season.
Duke and New Mexico State are the two offers for Hoyd, a 6-foot-3, 210-pound outside linebacker who said UCLA, Arizona State, Penn State and others are sending recruiting mail.

Since so many programs are showing interest, Hoyd said it's far too early to name any leaders until he gets a better grasp of which schools are serious about offering him.
He's hopeful a big stage like the one at Vista Murrieta could open up even more opportunities for him.
"Right now I'm taking it slowly," Hoyd said. "I'm really focused on the season and then in the off-season I'm going to really get after it. I want to get some film together so I can show coaches and maybe I can get to some more camps.
"It's a little too early for favorites. I'm going to wait to see what offers I get and which ones I like. I want to see some schools before I make a decision."
Hoyd is hopeful he can send out some junior highlight film after the first few games and then see if other programs want to get involved in his recruitment.
Vista Murrieta defeated Highlands Ranch (Colo.) Thunder Ridge in the season opener this past weekend and plays Anchorage (Alaska) South this weekend. A big matchup against Redlands (Calif.) East Valley is in two weeks.
After that stretch, Hoyd wants to send out film and hopefully get more noticed.
"I want to get some films like our first four games and our preseason to send out to coaches to show them what I have done so far," Hoyd said. "We just had a big win for us and so that's something I'll look at sending out."
