Howard picks up new offers

Defensive lineman David Howard has had an offer from Delaware for a while, and a couple of other schools have extended scholarships. Who leads for the Silver Spring (Md.) Spring Brook standout?

"Right now I have offers from Delaware, James Madison and Richmond," said Howard. "I'm planning on visiting James Madison on Jan. 14, then on Jan. 21 I should be going to Richmond."

While none of the more well-known schools have offered yet, Howard isn't ready to give up hope.

"I'm being realistic about things. Those schools probably have a couple of guys ahead of me and they're just waiting to see what will happen with them. I figure that if I wait it out a little longer and some things don't work out, they might turn to me. Schools like Boston College, Georgia, Maryland and Northwestern are still showing an interest in me, so I'll see what happens there."

When does Howard plan on making a decision?

"I'll probably have something final by January," he said. "By then I should know for sure who is and who isn't going to offer, and I'll have taken the official visits that I'm going to take."
