Howard not going anywhere

It was supposed to be a huge season for South Garland (Texas) High School cornerback Del Howard when he was picking up scholarships seemingly with ease and ready for a big senior season with a roster of talented players.
However, so far on the year the team has started off with a 4-4 record and Howard, along with the rest of the players, felt like it would be better. On the other hand, the 5-foot-10, 175-pound three-star Missouri commit has been showing leadership to get things done.

"It's been about turnovers and injuries," Howard said. "You have stuff like that happen and it really sets you back. I've been doing my part as best I can. I've got one interception, a forced fumble, and one fumble recovery for a touchdown."
"We're getting there. It's just been rough the last couple of games."
One thing that has made Howard's season much easier is the fact that he made his college commitment and it's still as solid as ever.
"I talk to the Missouri coaches once a week and man, we talk about everything," Howard said. "We talk about family, how they're doing, how I'm doing, and how Missouri is doing during the season. It's really great."
Of course, Howard is a very talented player that was not expected to stop receiving calls from other colleges upon making his commitment. The difference is Howard has put a stop to all of that.
"Purdue, Arizona State, and Kansas all called me," Howard said. "I'm solid. I love the state of Missouri. I used to live there and I've got family there, so it's not hard for me to stay solid on my commitment to the Tigers. I can be close to family and there is great opportunity for me there."
Now, Howard and his team just want to improve.
