Howard lands first SEC offer

Theo Howard has been picking up offers from programs across the country and now the 2016 wide receiver finally landed his first one from the SEC.
The Westlake Village (Calif.) Westlake standout has been in touch with the Texas A&M coaching staff and recently an assistant coach stopped by the school.

Only days later, Howard landed his latest offer from the Aggies.
"The special teams/tight end coach, Jeff Banks, came during the week," Howard said. "He met with (Westlake) coach (Jim) Benkert in the morning and they talked and he said he would come back in December. Then he just told me to call him and I called him and he offered on the phone."
Texas A&M is the latest offer for Howard, a 5-foot-11, 168-pound star who already has 37 receptions for 602 yards and seven touchdowns this season. The 2016 prospect is averaging more than 16 yards per catch.
It's definitely a major offer for Howard for multiple reasons and he said it's now time to start doing more research on the SEC program.
"It's very big," Howard said. "It kind of shows that I can get SEC schools and other schools outside the Pac-12 to offer me. It's a big step for me other than getting just Pac-12 schools.
"They're always on ESPN and stuff like that but I think it's time to learn more about them."
Howard has been one of the busiest juniors in California especially since he's having such a good season. Arizona State, Cal, Michigan, Oregon State, San Diego State, TCU, UCLA, USC, Washington and Washington State have also offered.
The 2016 receiver said UCLA, USC and Michigan remain his three favorites at this point but things have just kicked off in his recruitment. Notre Dame and Oklahoma are showing new interest.
