Houston WR mulling many options

One of the top receivers in the state of Texas for the 2005 class is Houston Lamar pass catcher Brandon LaFell. LaFell is the type of athlete that coaches love to have on campus. In addition to his prowess on the gridiron, LaFell is a good enough athlete to be a guard on his Houston area AAU basketball team that just wrapped up their summer touring schedule last week.
“Basketball ended last week,” said the 6-foot-3 inch wide out. “I came back from Los Angeles to a ton of new letters and pretty much the same offers as before. I still have offers from LSU, Arizona, Missouri, Houston, Kansas, Nebraska, Texas A&M and Utah.”

In addition to those schools that have offered, LaFell says that there is a new school that has jumped in on his recruiting radar.
“(Texas) Tech has started to send me more and more mail,” he said.
“They haven’t offered yet but they really seem like they will. If they do I will consider them along with everyone else, I haven’t really narrowed things down too much yet.”
While he has not set up any official visits yet, LaFell knows where he wants to trip as of today.
“If I had to set up my trips today I would visit Arizona, LSU, Missouri, Nebraska and Utah,” said LaFell.
“I have seen the in-state schools so many times that I don’t need to use official visits on them at all. Like, I have been to A&M so much it almost feels like I live there,” he said with a laugh.
So when does LaFell plan on deciding?
“I want to decide about half way through my season,” he said. “We play some games on Thursdays so I am going to try and take my trips on those weekends when we play during the week. After I take my trips I should be able to decide.”
