Houston WR getting noticed

Houston Yates coach Clarence McKinney knows that one of his star players, receiver Stacy Williams, can be an effective weapon all over the field. That's why going into his senior year, with schools looking hard at him for receiver, his coach will give him a crack at quarterback.
The 6-foot-1, 180-pounder Williams knows that his future is at receiver in college, but that doesn't mean he won't pick up interest as an athlete along the way. McKinney says that several schools may offer in the near future.

"Oklahoma State is really interested in Stacy," McKinney said. "They called and asked about some video on him. They just wanted to get a good look at that first. Arizona State is another school that likes him a lot as well. He's just getting gobs of mail from everyone."
McKinney says that Williams hasn't started his visits yet, but he has been putting in quality time in the classroom.
"Well, by the sliding scale with his 3.3 GPA, I think with what he got on the SAT, he should be ready to go," McKinney said about Williams' qualification. "He just hasn't taken any visits yet. We're trying to get a few of the guys there to the NIKE (Training) Camp in College Station.
"I just don't know who will come down yet."
