Houston WR adds new offers

Spring (Texas) Westfield receiver Christian Jones is ready to impress.
The 6-foot-3, 199-pound receiver already has offers from Arkansas, Baylor, Iowa State, Kentucky, Northwestern, Rice, Stanford and Texas Tech. He just recently picked up offers from Duke and Harvard and has intentions of earning more with a strong spring.

"Everything is going good," Jones said. "Spring ball just started on Monday, so the evaluation period has started. I'm working on my speed, my route running and overall making myself better after the catch. I want to be able to turn a short play into a long play.
"From what I've heard, the coaches like the type of explosive ability I have. Things like long strides when I get the ball and my ability to be a deep type of down the field receiver."
With numerous schools on his offer list and more schools like Alabama, Houston, Iowa, Kansas, Nebraska, Oklahoma, Oregon, TCU and Texas A&M showing interest, he is already starting to think about what things will be important in his decision-making process.
"I'm going to be majoring in engineering," he said. "I'd like to check out their academic/ engineering department while I'm on campus. I want to get a good feel for the campus itself as well. I'm also going to be looking for a supportive coaching staff - a coaching staff that can help you develop not only on the football field."
Jones said he's not ready yet to claim a favorite, especially since his strong performance at the recent NIKE Training Camp has sparked even more interest from coaches.
"I felt good about my performance there," he said. "I was shooting for the MVP of the camp but I didn't get it. But I caught everything I could and it was just an honor to be out there with those type of players. It really made me up my game."
