Houston wide receiver ready to commit

Houston (Texas) Booker T. Washington wide receiver Darius Austin has two things on his schedule this week. Friday at 7:30 pm, he has plans on winning a playoff game against Houston (Texas) Jones and on Wednesday at 5:30 he will be announcing his college plans.
Austin has had a bit of a down year compared to the numbers he put up as a junior but despite a decrees in production he has had some serious college suitors and he is ready to reward the schools that have stuck with him

"Last year I had a good year as a junior," Austin said. "I just started playing receiver as a tenth grader and last season I had 1,736 yards receiving. My quarterback ended up leaving because he was a senior and our new quarterback is inexperienced. The speed of the game if you're not used to it can be tough."
All season long Austin has had to answer questions about his production from college coaches.
"A lot of colleges are talking to me and asking me what's up," he said. "I ready to go ahead and commit and just want to enjoy my senior year. Even when I do commit, it's still going to be hard, schools asking me what happened but my focus now is just the playoffs."
Austin's lists of finalists are UTEP, SMU, Texas A&M and North Texas and he described what set apart the school of choice.
"I want to go somewhere that I can get a good education," he said. "I want the school to have an offense that throws the ball around and I want the school to be somewhere where there's not a million people. I want to feel comfortable there."
After Austin's announcement on Wednesday he will be focusing in on his Friday night game – a rematch of a preseason scrimmage.
"We played them in a scrimmage and I think we shut them out like 48-0," he said. "I told my team just because we got them that bad, everyone grows during the season just like we did. It's going to be a 48-minute season and Jones is not going to give up. They're going to fight."
