Houston St. Pius has emerging sleepers

In recruiting, some of the best stories are those of an unknown student athlete who comes from anonymity to the center of recruiting storm.
Over the past two seasons, St. Pius High School in Houston has developed major Division I talents in Ian Symonette and this year's Tarence Farmer. Conroe High School transfer Darr Nieuwoudt is displaying the true characteristics of a senior sleeper since arriving on campus.

"I don't think there's anybody better than Tarence (Farmer) in Houston," St. Pius coach Robin Kirk said. "Maybe the receiver from Hempstead (Terrance Toliver), but the real story is Darr. He's a no-doubter Division I kid. He has the size and works incredibly hard. He just got caught up in a transfer situation and kind of got lost in the shuffle."
Nieuwoudt (6-3, 250) will play both ways as at Pius as a defensive lineman and a tight end.
"He's so athletic that we have to get him the ball some," Kirk said. "I believe he plays defense at the next level, however."
So who's the next big find at St. Pius?
"We've got another stud from the Bahamas," Kirk said. "I really like him. I think he's a little ahead of Ian because he's been healthy. He will play junior varsity this year because he just doesn't know anything about football. Everyday he's getting better and better and will be a terror as he continues to learn the game. He's got a nasty streak to him."
Introducing Enrico Forbes, a 6-5, 250-pound defensive end, who will be in the recruiting forecast for 2008.
