Houston school home to top receivers
In the year of the big receiver in the city of Houston, Chavez (Houston) High School has two skyscrapers in Erik Martin and Justin Bell.
Martin (6-5, 200 pounds) and Bell (6-2, 180 pounds) are coming off their basketball season and are focused on new coach Mike Jackson's off-season program. The receiving tandem earned second-team, all-district honors as juniors and combined for over 700 yards in catches.

While Martin stretched the field and can go up better for balls with his height, Bell is the speedy inside receiver with sure hands.
"I think basketball helps me in football to be more physical," Martin said. "I can position myself for the catch with those skills. It keeps me in shape year round also."
Although he hasn't received his first offer, Oklahoma State is closing on Martin, who also likes Texas, Texas Tech, Miami, Florida State and LSU.
The twosome are close friends and will play AAU and seven-on-seven together this summer, but don't look for them to be a package deal at the college level.
"I like totally different schools," Bell laughs. "I like the West Coast. Schools like UCLA, Oregon and California are on top of my list."
For now, the wispy duo needs to weight room to prepare for junior one-day camps and their breakout senior seasons.
