Houston safety picking up interest

It can be a double-edged sword playing on a team with several Division I-A athletes. Some players get overlooked by recruiters who are blinded by the sparkle of their teammates.
Westside's David Wise, however, hung his own star as a senior. The 6-2, 210-pound safety, who plays along side R.J. and Marcus Jackson, had 75 tackles and was named to his third all-district team as a senior.

Schools taking notice included UTEP, North Texas and Louisiana Tech who all offered the big, hard-hitting safety.
"Marcus and I visited Louisiana Tech last weekend and it was cool up there," he said. "I liked the coaching staff and the players were cool. I'm going up to North Texas next weekend and I think I might be committing. With the history they have in their conference and the fact that it's pretty close to home is what I love. I'm really excited about it the trip."
With his size and speed, Wise could fill out to become an outside linebacker in college.
