Houston RB adds another team

Add another school of interest to tailback Selvin Young’s list of college choices.
“I’ve been talking to USC a lot lately,” Young explained. “They’ve won a lot of Heisman trophies running the ball, so they have the type of tradition I’m looking for.”

While Young, the top-rated tailback in the state of Texas by Rivals100, has added USC to his list, it doesn’t necessarily mean he has narrowed his college choices all that much.
The Trojans are joined by Oklahoma, LSU, UCLA, Colorado and Texas. The teams are listed in “no specific order”, according to Young.
Young says all of the teams involved have offered him a scholarship.
The 5-foot-11, 195-pound Jersey Village product is doing nothing to dispute the claim that he is the state’s top back. In three games this season, all against quality class 5A opponents, he has rushed for 535 yards and six touchdowns on just 49 carries.
Florida State and Kansas State, two teams Young had mentioned previously, were not among what Young termed his “first group” of schools that he is considering.
Like with USC, there’s a reason why Young is enamored with the schools he is considering.
“They all run the ball a lot or have a history of running the ball,” he said. “I don’t mean to sound selfish, but I like getting the ball and being the guy they turn to.”
Young describes his style of running to that of Terrell Davis.
“I hit the holes fast. I can cut quick and accelerate fast.”
