Houston (Texas) Washington quarterback Joseph Fields has one school at the top of his list, but he admits, the decision is a long way away.
“I would put Syracuse in the top spot right now,” the 6-foot-1, 215-pound Fields said. “They have a history of athletic dual-threat style quarterbacks. That is something that is very nice to see. They have a good situation as far as the depth at the position if I were to go there next year, too.”
Fields, the No. 19 rated dual-threat quarterback in America by Rivals.com, has scholarship offers from the Orangemen, Arkansas, Wisconsin, Houston and Tulane. He also is receiving interest from Michigan and Tennessee.
“I don’t know which schools I will visit among those schools,” he said. “Syracuse will be one of my visits for sure since they are at the top of my list. But, I haven’t decided anything on what other schools will get visits from me.
“I’ll need to get them set and get them decided on so I can get them all done in time to graduate. I will be out of school in December. That way I can get to my college choice for spring drills and start working out with the team right away.”
Don’t look for a quick decision from Fields.
“It could take me a while to make the decision. I will take all five of my visits if I need to. I want to make sure I make the best choice I can. I won’t rush it just to get it done.”
